Franz Ferdinand appeared on Steve Lamacq’s BBC 6Music show tonight for a Hub Session. The three hour show was broadcast from 4pm-7pm this evening.
If you missed it, you’ll be able to hear it again via the BBC iPlayer …it’s not currently available as of 7:50pm – but check later this evening it should be encoded and uploaded to the site by then :)

Franz Ferdinand are offering 50 fans the chance to see the band soundcheck before their London Heaven NME Awards show on 20th Jan.
The competition is only open to Franz Ferdinand fanclub members – and you’ll have to be quick as the competition closes tomorrow (Tuesday 5th Jan 2009)!
FF FanClub- Competition for attending a soundcheck show
On Tuesday 20 January 2009, prior to Franz Ferdinand’s NME Awards show at
Heaven in London, the FF:FC will be inviting 50 members along to the venue
for a special Fan Club sound check set by the band. There will also be a
chance to have a chat with the Boyz Franz afterwards.
Numbers have been limited to keep things intimate, with places to be
decided through a random draw. The sound check event will be for members
of all ages, unlike the main show itself which is over 18’s. To attend,
you must be available on the day of the show from late afternoon onwards.
The draw will be for one place per member. However, members aged 17 and
under who win a place in the draw, can be accompanied by a parent,
guardian, or other responsible adult.
To enter the draw email: fanclub@franzferdinand.co.uk with Heaven as the
subject header, stating your current membership number, name and age.
Please get your emails in by Tuesday 06 January. All those members
successfully drawn at random to attend the event, will be notified shortly
after this time.
The Rules.

The draw is for a place at the sound check event only – not admission to
the main show.
If you hold a ticket for the main show, and win a place for the sound
check event, you will be asked to exit the venue, and be readmitted once
doors open at 7.30pm.
According to reports, Franz Ferdinand have been booked to play on Jonathan Ross’ Friday night TV Show as he makes his return after suspension. The controversial talkshow host was suspended for three months by the BBC for comments made on Russell Brand’s BBC Radio 2 show. Franz Ferdinand will be playing their new single Ulysses on the programme, and no doubt cosying up to Hollywood A-listers in the green room!
I believe this will be the fourth (?) time that Franz Ferdinand have appeared on the show… previous appearances according to EpGuides.com include:

Friday Night With Jonathan Ross will air on BBC1 on Fri 23rd January 2009, to coincide with the Ulysess single launch (19th Jan), and the Tonight: Franz Ferdinand album release (26th Jan). The show is usually recorded a couple of days before transmission, and for those of you unable to watch it live (or on the BBC iPlayer), it will no doubt be added to the official BBC YouTube channel
